14 Dead, Many Injured, about 1250 Homeless as fire razes IDPs Camp in Borno State

Fourteen persons in the internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp in Borno state have been confirmed dead in a fire outbreak which left 15 others injured and over 1250 people homeless.

The fire outbreak reportedly occurred about 2.15 pm at the camp for displaced persons in Ngala local government area of Borno state on Thursday April 16, 2020.

According to Mal Yusuf Gulumbo who shared pictures from the scene, the fire razed 1250 houses. He shared pictures with caption;

“Happening Now:
Today the 16/04/2020 fire outbreaks at Ngala IS Camp burned 1250 households, unconfirmed. Fourteen confirmed dead, 7 critical injury and 8 minor injuries.
Still on evacuation and assessment is going on.” he wrote
