Access Bank customer tests Positive for Covid-19, Bank tells customers to self-isolate

The list of persons who were directly or indirectly in contact with persons infected with coronavirus seems to be getting longer in Nigeria as management of Access Bank confirms that a customer who visited their branch at Ligali Ayorinde, Lagos, is among those confirmed to be positive.

The management of the Bank released a statement telling all customers who visited the branch last week to self-isolate for 14 days and report to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control if they feel sick or exhibit symptoms.

A Twitter user who shared the statement wrote:

If you visited @myaccessbank Ligali Ayorinde branch last week, you should self-quarantine for a period of 14 days starting immediately. Because an individual who visited the branch on Monday 16th March 2020, has tested positive for Corona Virus.

Below is reportedly the content of the internal memo the bank sent to staff at the bank:

Dear Colleagues,

“On Monday March 16, 2020, our Ligali Ayorinde Branch was visited by an individual who on Friday March 20, 2020 tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently under quarantine at Yaba Isolation Center.

“In light of this, the Ligali Ayorinde Branch is temporarily closed, and all affected staff have been mandated to self-isolate at home. We are working with the Ministry of Health to efficiently manage the situation.

“Be assured That we are taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of all employees and are now activating the phase 3 of the Business Continuity plan with immediate effect until further notice.”
