Akintoye steps down as Yoruba Nation leader, appoints Adeniran

Professor Banji Akintoye, known leader of the separatist group of South-western Nigeria, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, has publicly resigned from his position as leader of this group.

According to Secretary-General of the group, Tunde Amusat, Professor Akintoye has appointed his ex-deputy, Professor Wale Adeniran, as the leader of the Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide.

Tunde Amusat, who is obviously speaking on behalf of Professor Akintoye, said at the worldwide congress of Ilana Omo Oodua on December 17th, 2022, that Professor Akintoye is handing over leadership on the basis of old age and fragile health.

The separatist group therefore accepted Akintoye’s resignation and affirmed Adeniran as their new leader.
