Rihanna gave an inspiring speech about Black women at the 2019 Diamond Ball which held last night, September 12, in New York.
A number of A-list celebrities walked the red carpet at the New York’s iconic Cipriani Wall Street venue of the Diamond Ball.
Rihanna was the last to arrive the red carpet at 9:22 p.m, donning a black velvet gown.
But before being whisked away from the red carpet, she had a message for fellow black women.
She said she comes from a line of black women and her daughter will also be a black woman, adding: “My mother is an incredible example of how to fight through obstacles in life. I’m sure her mom taught her that and that’s how I’m going to be. We are impeccable, we’re special and the world is going to have to deal with that.”
