President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have received their COVID-19 vaccine jab at the Old Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja today, March 6.
The President was injected with the vaccine by his Chief Personal Physician, Dr Shuaib Rafindadi Sanusi, while the Vice President was injected by Dr Nicholas Odifre, Personal Physician to the Vice President.
Those who were present to witness the vaccination were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr Boss Mustapha; Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire; Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; and the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
Nigeria received about four million doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine shipped into the country through the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on Tuesday.
The vaccination programme in the country kicked off on Friday, March 5 with the vaccination of Doctor Cyprian Nyong of the National Hospital and three other physicians.
