Breaking: Govt confirms release of Zamfara abducted schoolgirls

The remaining students among the 317 kidnapped schoolgirls of Government Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara have been freed.

The Nation reports that the palace of the Emir of Anka confirmed the students are for onward transportation to Gusau, the state capital.

Also, a Zamfara State government official confirmed to Channels Television on Sunday that the report of release of the students is true.

Recall that it was earlier reported that seven out of the 317 school girls abducted by bandits had escaped from their captors while trekking in the forest on Friday.

The escaped girls reportedly claimed that they maneuvered their way back after running out of the grips of the bandits.
