Dr. Augustine Adeoye Arogundade, the Executive Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA, is dead. He died Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness.
Arogundade’s demise was confirmed in a statement signed by the chairperson, Lagos State Conference of Local Government and Local Council development Area Chairmen (Conference 57, Lagos State), Mrs. Omolola Essien.
She prayed to God for his shortcomings and grant him passage to Paradise. She further called for more prayers for the family during this trying time.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Agege Local Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi has commiserated with Agbado Oke-odo LCDA over the sudden demise of the council chair. He described the late Arogundade as a gentleman with a kind heart.
The news of his sudden demise is coming few days after the death of the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaja Tawakalitu Abiodun Ayilara.
Similarly, few hours ago, the death of Senator Munir Muse who represented Lagos central senatorial district between 2007 and 2011, was reported death at the age of 80.
According to family sources, the senator died in the early hours of today Tuesday, June 2, two weeks after celebrating his 80th birthday.
The late lawmaker was elected to the Senate on the platform of the then Action Congress (AC). While at the upper legislative chamber, he chaired committees on National Planning, Police Affairs, Marine Transport, Interior, and Air Force.
He did not return to the Senate after failing to secure the ticket of the AC in 2011.
