CBN shares numbers to call when banks refuse to accept your torn Naira notes

Sometimes, bank customers get shocked, even frustrated when they take their cash to the bank and be told that the torn or mutilated ones cannot be accepted by the bank

The Central Bank of Nigeria has stated that mutilated Naira notes can be returned to your bank or a branch of Central Bank nearest to you.

The CBN said this via their official Twitter handle on Friday in a series of tweets and also shared phone numbers to call if your bank refuse to accept the Naira notes from you.

Do you know that you can return unfit and mutilated Naira notes to your bank and any Central Bank of Nigeria branch office?

A mutilated Naira note is a banknote, partially or permanently damaged by fire, water, dye, insects, torn or destroyed by natural disaster and clearly more than half of the original size.

You can call the CBN Contact Centre on +2347002255226 if your bank refuses to accept unfit and mutilated notes from you.
