Court remands two brothers for killing their uncle in Kwara

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court remands two brothers, Musa Idris and Aliyu Idris for allegedly killing their uncle, Muhammed Abubakar.

Musa and Aliyu have been arraigned before the court for the offences of culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy.

These offences contravene Sections 97 and 221 of the penal code.

The suspects whose ages are 25 and 20 respectively, criminally collogued to attack Mohammed Abubakar, 54, and macheted him to death.

According to the Police Information Report(FIR), this happened in Kaiama local government area of the state.

Based on the report, “Investigation conducted at SCID, Ilorin, revealed that the suspects wanted to attack their father over a little misunderstanding which led to the intervention of the uncle.”

Their father had gone for his usual cattle grazing, only to return late and discover that his younger brother has been macheted by his children.

The report added,“the suspects confessed to the crime that they were not happy with their uncle for not allowing them to attack the father which made them kill him.”

The case was handled on behalf of the police by Prosecutor Gbenga Ayeni.

Magistrate A.A Issa delivered his ruling, by ordering the remand of the suspects and adjourned the case to 1st November, 2023.
