Just in: PDP postpones Edo primary over Obaseki

The spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbodiyan, has announced the postponement of the party’s governorship primary election in Edo state.

In a tweet shared on on Thursday afternoon, Ologbodiyan revealed that the new date for the primary is now Tuesday, June 23.

Meanwhile the election was initially slated for Monday, June 22.

Although he didn’t explain the reason for the postponement, it was gathered it may not be unconnected with the defection of Governor Godwin Obaseki which may be announced any moment from now.
