The National Chairman of Action Alliance (AA), Kenneth Udeze, has been abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be security operatives.
According to family members, Udeze was abducted outside a Zenith Bank branch in Dutse, Abuja this morning August 30th as he went to the bank to lay complains after receiving text messages of unauthorised heavy withdrawals from his accounts this morning.
He was abducted on arrival at the bank and was taken away in a black SUV.
The Abuja police command is yet to comment on the abduction.
In a telephone conversation with Punch, his wife Genevieve revealed that the gunmen who forced Udeze into a Toyota Forerunner SUV on Friday morning and drove away to an unknown location could be security operatives.
She said, “My husband’s driver, who was present said the officers who were in mufti showed him an arrest warrant and then forcefully took him away in their SUV. The driver explained that he drove after them but when they got to Zuba and observed that he was following them, they turned back and drove towards Gwarimpa.
“He then decided to return to the house to inform me. I have visited Zuba police station where the policemen said they came from, but I was told the men were not from there. I know the case is in connection with his withdrawal from the AA election petition in court.”
