A man has taken to Twitter to narrate a lesson his mother taught him about being smart with his finances.
He explained that his mother was a teacher at Government College, Ibadan, and, at the time, staff were given loans to buy a car each and repay the loan in 4 years.
Everyone bought brand new cars but a particular male teacher bought a fairly used car and hired a driver, which attracted ridicule from his colleagues.
However, while other staff came to school with their cars and parked the cars till the end of the workday, the man’s driver dropped him off, then drove the car out for taxi business.
The male teacher was able to pay back his loan after only one year. By the end of the 4 years when other teachers were paying back the loan, the man already had 6 taxis.
