Popular internet comedian, Mr Macaroni and singer Falz are among the prominent young activists who led the car procession at the #EndSARSMemorial protest at Lekki tollgate in Lagos on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
They showed up at the procession weaving Nigerian flags and shouting #ENDSARS.
The process at the toll gate, which was the epicentre of the nationwide protests last year, was held despite a ban on public gathering and heavy security presence.
Macaroni, who was in a Lexus SUV, told reporters Nigeria must listen to the demands of youths and embrace good governance.
Falz, who was also spotted among the protesters, said Nigerians must learn to stand up for their rights.
The protesting youths made good their threat and defied the threat by the police to hold the memorial protest at the Lekki Tollgate, though they were not allowed to block the road. The protesters were armed with flags and placards with different inscriptions, such as: “End bad governance,” “Say no to oppression”.
