Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Demola Seriki dies

The sad news of the death of former Nigerian minister of State for Defence (2008-2009) Ademola Rasaq Seriki has circulated the Nigerian news space.

It was with heavy hearts that the family of Ambassador Seriki made a statement about this unexpected loss. The statement reads:

“It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that we announce the loss of our much loved and admired patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, His Excellency, Ambassador Ademola Rasaq Atanda Seriki (CON) on December 15th, 2022."

The Nigerian politician from Lagos State died at the age of 63. During his lifetime, Ademola Rasaq Seriki, popularly known as Demola Seriki, was a teacher, a businessman, a politician and a public administrator.

He was also a permanent Nigerian representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and served as Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain since January 2021 until his death on December 2022.
