The Organised Labour in Imo and Akwa Ibom states have written their respective State Governors, issuing a 14-day ultimatum to implement issues they have in dispute with the States.
For workers in Imo state, Labour is giving the government till Monday, 16th November, 2020 to solve the problem of “non-payment, staggered payment, and underpayment of Imo workers’ salaries since February, 2020.” They also spoke of non payment of Pension as well as implementation of N30,000 minimum wage.
The workers in Akwa Ibom are requesting, among other things, payment of leave of grant of civil servants, teachers and LGA workers.
