Osinbajo Marks One Year since he survived a helicopter crash

On 2nd February 2019, a helicopter carrying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other members of his team crashed in Kabba, Kogi state. Fortunately, no live was lost.

A year after, both the Vice President and his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo remember the crash that almost took his life.

Sharing a video of the crash on social media, The Vice President wrote: “Onise Iyanu! (God of Miracles!)”

Dolapo also posted the video of the crash, giving thanks to God for his mercies. She wrote; ”I remember Lord! 2nd of February,2019. Mo fori bale fun Oluwa, Oba awon Oba, Mo dupe, mo ri aanu gba”. Words that translate to; ”I bow to God, King of Kings, I thank you, I receive mercy”.

According to Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant, Media to the Vice President, there were 12 persons, including the Vice President aboard the ill-fated chopper. Among them was the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Prof. Stephen Ocheni, who is an indigene of Kogi.

There were also senior presidential aides, security officials, and the crew.

Later on, during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital following his escaped air mishap, Osinbajo said “God delivered me from the crash because he wants me to work, that is what he called me to do and that is what we will do.
