Civil servants at the National Refugee Commission in Nasarawa state are currently protesting the misappropriation of funds of the commission meant for the provision of relief to internally displaced persons in the state.
The protesters accused the government officials in charge of appropriating the funds of using the money to furnish houses of traditional rulers and fund the welfare of politicians.
The spokesperson among the protesters claimed that billions have been provided for the National Refugee Commission but the money has not been used to provide the necessary equipment and resources they need to provide relief for displaced persons.
They accused the leadership of been insensitive to the plight of the internally displaced persons who are suffering despite the series of complaints they had made.
