Three more Imo lawmakers defect from PDP and AA to APC

Another batch of Imo state House of Assembly members on Thursday defected from defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Alliance (AA) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

At the plenary, the speaker, Collins Chiji, read the defection letters of the three lawmakers and asked the clerk of the house, Chinelo Emeghara, to take note.

While Uju Onwudiwe, who was recently inaugurated after winning a supplementary election on January 25, representing Njaba State Constituency defected from AA, Samuel Otuibe (Ahiazu Mbaise) and Paschal Okolie (Orlu) joined from the PDP.

This is coming after 17 lawmakers from the PDP, AA and All Progressives Grand Alliance in two previous sittings defected to the ruling APC.

With the latest defections, The House which used to have members from APGA, AA, APC and PDP, now has only APC and PDP. APC now has 21 lawmakers while PDP has six.

The six remaining PDP lawmakers are Okey Onyekanma (Mbaitoli), who resigned as the deputy speaker, Philip Ejiogu (Owerri North), Solomon Anukam (Owerri Municipal), Tochi Okereke (Ngor Okpala), Frank Ugboma (Oguta) and Anyadike Nwosu (Ezinihitte Mbaise).
