The newly renovated office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State has been set ablaze.
INEC national spokeman, Festus Okoye confirmed that the incident happened on Saturday night, May 9.
In a statement released on Monday, the electoral umpire revealed that “all electoral materials and office equipment were destroyed” in the fire but no human casualty was recorded.
The sad incident comes a week after similar incident happened in Essien Udim LGA of Akwa Ibom State.
