The new Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has been conveyed to the Palace of Zazzau as 19th Emir of the Emirate.

Kaduna State Government on Wednesday announced Bamalli, a former Nigeria Ambassador to Thailand as the new Emir of Zazzau.

The seat had been vacant following the death of Alhaji Shehu Idris, the 18th Fulani Emir who died on Sunday, 20th September.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the new emir and charged him to use his new appointment to foster unity among all interests in the emirate.

The President gave the charge on Wednesday in a congratulatory message which was quoted in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

Buhari said: “I congratulate you on making history by becoming the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house in 100 years. You deserve the appointment and I am confident you will justify the confidence reposed in you.

“While you bask in the glory of the moment, I want you to be the leader to all and treat all your people fairly in the performance of your duties.

“This is a challenging moment and therefore, I want you to use this opportunity to unite all members of the ruling houses for the interest of your people.

“May Allah grant you wisdom and guidance in the discharge of this responsibility.”
