‘We have wronged you’, Sen. Florence Ita Giwa kneels to beg rioting Calabar youths (Video)

As the security situation in Cross Rivers State got worse on Saturday, Senator Florence Ita Giwa went down on her kneels to beg young Cross Riverians to forgive the political class for not leading right.

Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, was hit by unprecedented vandalism, looting and burning of houses between Friday and Saturday. Several public and private building was affected, especially houses belonging to political leaders.

Following the incidents, Giwa went on her kneels to pray for mercy in the indigenous Efik language. She said:

“I know we have wronged you. The generation of today has suffered. The big people have wronged you. Nigerian politics has failed you. But please forgive us. Forgive the big people. Forgive the politicians”
