What Nigerian doctor advised Lagos Govt to do to COVID-19 protocol violators

A frontline Nigerian medical doctor has advised Lagos State Government on the kind of punishment to give to persons arrested for violating COVID-19 protocols in the state.

Dr Bella Nifemi who has been treating COVID-19 patients suggested that the state government should send arrested violators to go and do community service at the Infectious Disease Hospitals.

Dr. Bella Nifemi gave the advice after men of the Lagos state police command arrested 237 COVID-19 violators at different clubs in the state over the weekend.

She wrote:

”Dear @jidesanwoolu @ProfAkinAbayomi @LSMOH  I want the punishment for those violating Covid-19 rules, especially those arrested at clubs to be community service at IDH Yaba, let them come and be pushing oxygen cylinders into the wards and assist with moving bodies to morgue.

“They will see the real situation firsthand and become the preacher when they return home. Kindly put this into consideration. Thank you Dr Nifemi for #agreaterlagos #COVID19 #secondwave #maskup”
