The Government of Rivers State has banned protest from taking place in the state, thereby denying the citizens their constitutional right to peaceful protest.
This comes hours before the residents of the state join the nationwide protest against police brutality.
In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinus Nsirim on Monday night, the state government announced that “all forms of protests have been banned throughout the state”.
