How police would have killed us – Mr Macaroni opens up in new video

Popular social media comedian, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni has opened up on some of the mistreatments and dehumanization he and several others were subjected to after they were arrested by police officers on Saturday morning.

Mr Macaroni was among the 40 protesters arrested at the Lekki toll gate on Feb 13, when they came out for the #OccupyLekkiTollgate peaceful protest.

The protesters are insisting that the tollgate should not be reopened till #EndSARS protesters shot by soldiers on October 20, 2020, get justice.

The arrested protesters were granted bail last night. But the police charged them for:
1. Breaking the 50 person COVID gathering limits
2. Breaking order not to protest (which by the way, is a constitutional right)

After he was released on Saturday night, Mr Macaroni made his first tweet, blaming government alone for the insecurity in the country. He wrote:

The Hausa man is my brother, so is the Igbo man and The Yoruba man. We are all one. The Government and the Government alone is responsible for any insecurity in Nigeria and it is their duty to protect all Nigerians. I plead for peace. We will come back to my matter later.

In a video he released on Sunday, Mr Macaroni thanked everyone who spoke up when he and others were arrested. He also warned people against blaming other celebrities who didn’t come out for the protest. He said he was not really a brave person because he was scared as well, and they would have been killed if there was no enough awareness. He added that he went out that morning because he knew people would come out that he needed to speak for himself and others.
