Chukwunonye Irounno, the popular Imo-based entertainer and politician, expected to be the MC of Peter Obi’s campaign today in Owerri is dead.
The entertainment guru was also the Labour Party (LP) House of Assembly Candidate for Okigwe Constituency, Imo State House of Assembly.
A heartbroken friend of Irouno who confirmed the tragic news to Expressiveinfo said that Irouno died last night after returning home from series of meetings.
According to our source, Irouno was part of planning of the Peter Obi’s presidential campaign that is expected to take place this morning.
According to our source, “He was very fine. He even called me last night to ask if I was in town. We spoke for a while and laughed a lot during our chat. He spoke about the campaign he will MC today and how everything was going. He was his usual joyous self before we hung up.
“To my greatest shock. I got another call less than one hour later that my friend is dead. What kind of life is this?”
Irouno was also the Special Assistant to Imo State Governor when Rochas Okorocha was governor.
He is survived by his wife and four children.

This was a guy I mentored on the work of MC.
In 1995, my traditional marriage was anchored by him due to disappointment from the originally booked MC, Late Marcel Onyechere, (Maxi More) that was his first time of handling a Mic in an occasion, and he performed above average.
In 1996, again, he anchored my white wedding.
March last year,he also anchored the burial reception of my dearly beloved late wife, Ogadim,in Osina, Ideato North LGA.
De Governor himself, may the good Lord accept your soul in paradise, and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable lose.. Amen.
