First Lady of Imo State, Barrister Chioma Uzodimma today, April 18, commissioned the newly built Catholic Women Organization (CWO) hall at the Maria Assumpta Catheral in Owerri.

The ceremony which held as part of this year’s Mother’s Day celebration in the church had in attendance, the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma who accompanied his wife to celebrate her and other mothers.

Speaking at the programme, the First Lady admonished mothers to continue to do more in moulding the right characters in young ones and imbibing the necessary virtues for the betterment of the society.

Quoting Napoleon Bonaparte, she said, “Give me good mothers and I shall give you a great nation.” She reaffirmed that the progress of a people depends upon the way the mothers bring up their children.

The Governor’s wife also commended all mothers for the great work they do, urging everyone to celebrate their strength as often as possible. She also urged mothers to emulate the blessed virgin Mary as a symbol of love and draw inspiration from her always.
