Breaking: IGP dissolves SARS nationwide, Nigerians win #EndSARS fight

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has dissolved the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force with immediate effect.

The IGP announced this on Sunday afternoon, saying operatives of SARS will be redeployed to other police formations and commands.

The announcement is victory for all Nigerian Youths who have been on online and offline protests against the brutality and extra-judicial killings by SARS operatives.

At a briefing, on Sunday afternoon, the IGP said, “The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force otherwise known as SARS is hereby dissolved in all the 36 State Police Commands and the Federal Capital Territory.”

The briefing was immediately followed by a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba.
