Breaking: Ondo Assembly suspends Deputy Speaker for unruly behaviour, Majority Leader resigns

The impeachment plans against Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, set in motion by some members of the Ondo House of Assembly, has led to the suspension of Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Irioju Ogundeji.

Ogundeji was suspended by the leadership of the House alongside another member, Hon Adewale Williams, for alleged unruly behaviour.

Both lawmakers were reportedly among the nine lawmakers that kicked against impeachment move against Deputy Governor of the state.

The Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr Jamiu Maito in a surprising move tendered his resignation.

Maito’s letter of resignation was read by the Clerk of the House, Mr Bode Adeyelu, during the plenary session on Wednesday.
