Ex-Super Eagles player sacked by club, declared wanted in Turkey

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Raheem Lawal seem to have gotten himself in trouble that has led to his sack by his club and police declaring wanted in Turkey.

The midfielder was sacked by his Turkish second division club, Fatih Karagumruk, after he was involved in a night club brawl in Istanbul, Sports Extra reports.

Lawal, who joined the club last summer after a protracted injury, reportedly broke the head of an unidentified partygoer at the club.

According to the Twitter handle of the Turkish Football League, the 29-year-old midfielder is wanted by the police in Turkey.

“Karagumruk has fired Lawal, who is wanted by the police for breaking a bottle in a person’s head in a fight in a nightclub in Istanbul,” the tweet read.

Lawal, capped seven times by Nigeria, featured in nine games this season before he was sacked.
