One Ikechukwu Imaefulem, the Chief Priest and Spiritual leader of Life Sabbath Synagogue Amii, Akabo in Ikeduru LGA, Imo State, has been arrested by operatives of the Imo state police command on allegations that he prepares spiritual fortification for IPOB/ESN members in the state.
According to a statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Michael Abattam, Imaefulem was arrested after one of the suspected members of the secessionist group confessed that he and other members of the group get their spiritual powers from the spiritual leader.
Abattam said when Imaefulem’s spiritual home and premises were searched, the following items were recovered:-
1. One pump action gun with five rounds of live cartridges
2. One Improvised Explosives Device
3. Knockouts
4. Gun Powder
5. Biafran Flag and other spiritual items.
The police spokesperson added that the arrested Spiritualist is in custody, undergoing interrogation, and is assisting the police “tremendously with information that will lead to the discovery of the remnants of their Camps and arrest of other members of the group in hiding.”
Reacting to the reported arrest, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said anybody the police arrest now, is referred to as an ESN member. Powerful accused the police of linking ESN to criminals because it is “powerless.”
According to him: “Police with empty arrest on ESN, nobody arrested ESN anybody Buhari and Fulani police arrested these days is automatically ESN but Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen, Boko Haram terrorists and bandits maming and killing people in all villages are free parading themselves and changing another people’s villages name. IPOB is bigger that is why they are looking for ways to implicate our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB.
“Coward Nigeria police must leave IPOB and ESN alone we are not on the same table with them we don’t intimidate people but Nigeria police does without having second thoughts.
“Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro should stop rubbishing police with propaganda, IPOB is bigger than them.”
