Big Brother Naija star Nengi Rebecca Hampson met with the First Lady of Bayelsa State, Gloria Diri after reports that she had been replaced with the first female first-class graduate from the Faculty of Law of Niger Delta University (NDU), Ebizi Eradiri, as the “Face of Bayelsa Girl Child”
Eradiri was named Face of Bayelsa Girl Child by Governor Douye Diri on Monday, which many mistook for replacement of Nengi.
But Mr Daniel Alabrah, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Diri later released a statement, clarifying that Nengi was not replaced, that the governor could appointment as many Faces as possible to represent different sectors in the state. He further stated that Nengi represents the Face of Bayelsa Girl Child in entertainment while Eradiri stands in for education.
Nengi on Tuesday congratulated Eradiri and promised to work together on forging better welfare for the girl child in Bayelsa.
“Congratulations to Barr. Ebizi Eradiri. It’s amazing how you were able to pull that thru! Special thanks to my Governor for also finding her worthy for the honour. It is without doubt that we will both work together to see how we can front for a better welfare for the Girl child,” she wrote.
After paying a visit to the First lady, Nengi on Wednesday shared photos from the meeting and wrote:
“Had an amazing time as usual with my Mummy… Mrs Gloria Diri, Bayelsa State First Lady,” she wrote.
