A new The Best FIFA Women’s Player of the Year will be crowned tonight, Monday, January 17, 2022, in Zurich, Switzerland.

Due to the ravaging Omicron variant of COVID-19, the event will hold virtually.

The three players who made it to the final shortlist and stand a chance to win the award for 2021 are: Alexia Putellas of Barcelona and Spain, Jenni Hermoso of Barcelona and Spain, and Sam Kerr of Chelsea and Australia.
