The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has taken a new twist as the Supreme Court on Monday adjourned hearing in the appeal filed by the party challenging the authenticity of the Daniel Nwafor-led APC executive in Imo State to October 2022.
The Appeal Court had upheld the August 14, 2020 judgment of the Bwari High Court , which confirmed the Daniel Nwafor-led exco as the authentic executives in Imo State.
The High Court judgement also restrained the APC NEC from tampering with the tenure of the Daniel Nwafor-led Executives.
Counsel to the defendants in the suit No:SC/CV/884/2020, Chiedozie Ogunji, informed the Court that the appeal had expired having exhausted its 60 days life span.
But counsel to plaintiff (APC), requested for time to file a reply on the issue of the expiration of the life span of the appeal.
The Supreme Court Judges queried the plaintiff’s Counsel if he was not aware that the matter had elapsed.
The Court however adjourned the matter to October 2022 for further hearing.
