LGBTQ+ activist demands dropping “Mr” & “Mrs” in schools for benefit of kids

An LGBTQ+ activist, Dr Elly Barnes has said that dropping “Mr” & “Mrs” in schools and going gender neutral will benefit kids.

She said that adopting the use of gender-neutral phrases to avoid alleged discrimination in schools will improve children’s mental health, according to Metro.

Barnes said the education sector should be moving towards a “gender-free model,” in a recent union-funded workshop.

According to Barnes, staff should be referred to as “teacher” or “headteacher,” followed by their surname rather than “Mr” or “Mrs.”
