Army confirm bandit attack on military base in Kaduna and Niger state, several soldiers k!lled

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of some solders who paid the supreme price after a group of bandits attacked military bases in Kaduna and Niger states on Tuesday, June 24.  

The attacks occurred at forward operating bases in Aungwan Turai, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, and Kwanar Dutse, Mairiga, and Boka in Niger State, according to a statement issued by the Defense Headquarters.

The army called the attack a “three-pronged attack” and said that troops from both air and land components responded with counterattacks.

‘’On 24 June 2025, forward operating bases in the general areas of  Kwanar Dutse Mairiga and Boka Niger State, and Aungwan Turai Chikun LGA in Kaduna State, were attacked by bandits in a 3 pronged attack. In response, land and air component troops launched several counter-attacks that eliminated scores of bandits in the encounters. Sadly, some gallant warriors paid the supreme price in the day-long battles”

Four soldiers were shot and are currently undergoing medical treatment, the statement also said.

The military stated that clearance efforts are being carried out in the neighbouring regions to find the individuals who escaped the scene.
