Ex-Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reportedly resigned as the APC national chairman on Friday, June 27.
Ganduje was elected as the APC National Chairman in August 2023, amidst internal party conflicts. Before he was elected chairman, he was the Governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023.
The reason for his resignation is yet to be made public, but some party members claim he resigned on health grounds. According to the party sources, Ganduje stated that he needs to focus on his health.
His personal belongings were moved from his office at the APC national secretariat yesterday.
The unexpected development has thrown the party’s headquarters into confusion, with staff and visitors visibly shocked by the news.
