An alleged thief who had been terrorizing palm oil traders at Urua Anwa Market in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State was apprehended on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Sources revealed that the suspect, said to have been targeting traders for some time, was caught while trying to sneak away with a container of palm oil.
The quick intervention of market leaders and vigilant traders prevented the situation from escalating into mob action.
He was later handed over to the appropriate authorities for further questioning and possible prosecution.
