APGA Leadership Crisis: A Turning Point! The National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, on the Triumphant Move – NDUKA ANYANWU
The All-Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been grappling with a protracted leadership crisis, but recent developments signal a decisive shift in favor of the party’s
genuine leadership. This turn of events marks a significant
milestone in the ongoing power struggle.
The Genesis of the Crisis
The crisis began with a contentious issue in Birnin Kudu, which
dragged on until Dr. Ike Oye, the then National Chairman of APGA, was joined in the case. The appeal was subsequently dismissed at the Kano Division of the Court of Appeal, with APGA and Oye emerging victorious. The Supreme Court also upheld this ruling, dealing a significant blow to the opposing faction.
A New Chapter Unfolds
In a recent development, the Court of Appeal, Abuja division, granted Ezeokenwa Jr Sly, Oye, and APGA leave to appeal its earlier judgment delivered on June 28, 2024. This
unanimous ruling, delivered by Justices A. O Obaseki-Adejumo, M. Danjumu, and O. E. Abang, has significant implications for the lparty’s future.
A Last-Ditch Effort
Faced with the prospect of defeat, the opposing faction has appealed to the Supreme Court against the Appeal Court ruling. This move is widely seen as a desperate attempt to cling to power, as they have exhausted all legal avenues.
A Path to Redemption
With their options dwindling, the detractors are urged to swallow their pride and apologize to the leader of the party and Governor of Anambra State, Professor
Chukwuma Soludo, and the national chairman of APGA, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa. This is the only viable option left to salvage what remains of their reputation.
The Endgame
The APGA leadership crisis is nearing its end, with the authentic leadership poised to emerge victorious. As the dust settles, it remains to be seen how the detractors will respond to their impending defeat. One thing is certain – the party will emerge
stronger and more united than ever.
