Breaking: 2 killed as gunmen attack Reps Member

Musa Agah, the newly elected member representing Jos North-Bassa Federal Constituency was on Tuesday night ambushed by suspected terrorists.

The federal lawmaker and his aides were said to be returning home from a thank-you tour around 9pm when the incident occurred along Twin Hill Miango, in Bassa Local Government area of Plateau State.

Confirming the incident, personal assistant to the lawmaker, Moses Maly, who was in the car with him when the incident occurred, said the legislator’s wife and two kids all escaped but his car was riddled with bullets.

Maly said two persons who were on motorcycles, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward party chairman and woman leader who were ahead of the convoy were killed in the ambush.

Musa Agah was recently sworn-in as member representing Jos North-Bassa Federal Constituency following his victory at the February 26 bye-election.

The Police and Military as of the time of filing this report were yet to respond.

However, a statement by the National Secretary General of the Irigwe Developement Association (IDA), Danjuma Dickson Auta, confirmed the attack. He alleged the attackers were Fulani militia.
