At least fifteen women were crushed on Saturday after a truck loaded with chippings crashed at Anara-Orlu expressway in the Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo state.
The women who were trading at the roadside at Nkwommiri market in the area were struck after the truck lost its brakes.
While some were crushed into a nearby river, others were severely wounded.
As at the time of filing this report, police and villagers were battling to rescue those trapped. See more photos below.
