A 14-year-old girl simply identified as Jumoke has been killed by stray bullet at the Yoruba Nation rally held at Ojota Park, Lagos on Saturday.
The protest, which started with singing and chanting, got rowdy as security operatives fired gunshots and teargas to disperse protesters.
The lifeless body of the girl, with her stomach ripped open, was covered with a cloth as crowd of sympathisers gathered at the scene.
According to The Nation, a resident said the girl was about to open the shop when the stray bullet hit her. Police visited the scene of the incident, and took her dead body away.
