Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Imo State in the last governorship election has won his rival, Leonard Okolienta at the Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State today, Thursday in the suit challenging his nomination as the authentic candidate of the party.
Justice R.C Agbo who presided over the matter agreed with the argument of the counsels to the 5th Respondent, Malachy Nwaekpe and Sharon Anyaduba, who raised the point that the suit is statue barred, going by the 4th Alteration to the 1999 Constitution, section 285 (12), and therefore dismissed the appeal for been statute barred.
Leonard Okolienta, the plaintiff had appealed the judgment of the lower Court, which earlier ruled that Mr Nwosu was the authentic governorship candidate of Action Alliance.
