Confusion? SGF’s office denies knowing about sack of 35 aides of VP Osinbajo

Whatever power tussle or intrigue playing out at the presidency with regards to the office of the vice president is getting even more dramatic as time goes on as new reports shared by Vanguard reveal that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has denied knowledge of disengagement of aides attached to the office of the Vice President.

According to the report, Willie Bassey, director of press in the office the SGF says he is not aware of such sack of the vice president’s aides

Daily Trust had confirmed that Vice President Osinbajo had to retrieve the sack letters from the affected aides pending the return of President Buhari to Nigeria after the letters were issued to them through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Nigerians are now wondering how the Director of Press from the SGF’s office would not know about the letter of termination which was reportedly issued from the same office.

Vanguard reports that the SGF’s office, through its director of press, Willie Bassey, said that such action did not take place.

Bassey was quoted saying, “I am not aware. People have been calling me to ask. Nobody has informed me of any such development,” the director said.

Meanwhile, despite insinuations of being made irrelevant in the presidency, Osinbajo, on Wednesday, November 6, presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The FEC meeting which was held as usual in the Presidential Villa in Abuja, is the second one that Osinbajo is presiding over since President Muhammadu Buhari travelled out of the country.
