Court declines Ihedioha’s plea to stop probe of N19.63 billion council funds

The embattled immediate past governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha on Monday lost the battle to secure a restraining order from a High Court in Owerri to stop the House of Assembly from probing the alleged mismanagement of N19.63billion council funds by his administration.

Ihedioha had gone to an Owerri High Court to get an ex-parte order restraining the House from inviting or probing him over the misappropriated LGA funds.

Justice S. I. Opara, in his ruling, held that rather than grant the ex-parte application, the case would be set down for hearing.

After throwing out the application, judge ruled that all parties must file necessary documents for hearing and adjourned till May 27 for hearing.

Imo Attorney-General C. O. C. Akaolisa represented the House of Assembly; S. A. Anyalewechi represented Ihedioha.
