Fulani Herdsmen strike in Osun, kill policeman, kidnap 3 Chinese

Suspected Fulani herdsmen struck on Tuesday at If­ewara, Atakunmo­sa East Local Government Council of Osun State and took away three Chinese who were working for a mining company, “Aare Gold” Chief Akin­sanya.

It was gathered that one police officer stationed at the mining company was shot dead.

The source said the where­abouts of the three Chinese men could not be ascertained and the abductors demanded N500 million ransom before they could release them.

It was further gathered that the notorious Fulani men were armed with Ak47 rifles at the time they unleash terror to the deceased police man as they disarmed him of his rifle before he was shot dead.

Meanwhile Amotekun personnel have been reportedly deployed into the villages in search of the kidnapped victims.

Confirming the incident, the Osun Amotekun Corps Commandant, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, rtd, confirmed that a police escort was killed and three Chinese expatriates were kidnapped by some unknown persons.

“A police escort was also killed in the process. Our men have been deployed into the village to comb everywhere in an attempt to rescue the victims,” he said.
