Hisbah to marry off 50 Kano journalists in mass wedding

The Commander-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa has announced that journalists and media workers have been allocated 50 slots in the next batch of the state’s mass wedding programme.

Sheikh Daurawa, who disclosed this while speaking with journalists on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, said the initiative aims to extend the programme’s benefit to professional groups, including members of the media.

He highlighted the success of the previous batch of mass weddings where 1,800 marriages were consummated.

In light of this success, the Hisbah chief said the board decided to expand the programme to include interested members of various professional fields such as journalism, law, and healthcare.

Sheikh Daurawa explained that the state’s mass wedding initiative was conceived to promote moral values in society and reduce immorality among young men and women.
