Gombe senator suspended over anti-party activities

The Senator representing Gombe South Federal Constituency, Bulus Amos, has been suspended by the Ward Executives of Bambam Ward, Balanga L.G.A in the state.

Muhammad Kaka, the Ward Chairman, had alleged that the vice chairman of the Senate on the Niger Delta Committee would be probed through the constitution of the five-man committee on anti-party activities.

However, the Personal Assistant to Amos Manasseh Felix rebutted the allegation, saying that the senator has greatly contributed to the successes of the party both at the zonal and state levels.

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Moses Kyari, confirmed the recent development in a press release. He said the suspension happened because of a petition written from his ward which caused a five-man committee of the ward to conduct a two-week investigation on Amos.

Kyari further told that when invited, the senator failed to clear himself of the charges levelled against himself by the committee.

He said, “The committee invited the Senator who could not defend himself from the allegations hence, the committee recommended his suspension and eventual expulsion from the party. The order of suspension takes effect from today Saturday, April 8 2023.”
