Gunmen attack another University, kidnap students on campus

Three Students of the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi (FUAM), Benue State have been kidnapped on the institution’s campus.

The Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPR), Mrs Rosemary Waku, announced the kidnap.

“An unconfirmed number of students of FUAM were abducted at gunpoint by unknown persons from the campus on Sunday 25th April 2021.

“The University has reported the incident to the police and all relevant security agencies.

“The University has not heard anything from the students or their captors since the unfortunate incidence took place,” Waku stated

The Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, confirmed the abduction of the students.

Recall that this is coming less than two weeks after gunmen attacked GreenField University, a private varsity in Kaduna State and kidnapped students from the school, among whom three have been murdered by their abductors.

Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation was also attacked in Kaduna, making it thee tertiary institutions to be attacked since March.
