Dr Isa Patami, the minister of communication, on Thursday, September 12 said the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) had been directed to block unregistered sim cards which are over nine million.
The NCC, according to the minister, must ensure that telecom operators block unregistered sim cards until users comply with proper registration procedures.
In line with the new directive, Nigerians whose sim cards are not registered may soon be restricted or barred from using the mobile phone numbers.
