“I Converted to Islam While Searching for the Truth” – Burna Boy Opens Up on Religious Journey

Damini Ogulu, Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artist, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed how his ongoing spiritual quest, revealing that his switch from Christianity to Islam was driven by a deep desire to uncover truth and enlightenment.

Speaking in a recent interview with streamer Playboymax, the globally acclaimed singer admitted that despite his efforts to understand various faiths, he remains spiritually unfulfilled.

“Growing up, I was a Christian, and later I converted to Islam. I’ve studied a lot of religious texts trying to find meaning, but the more I read, the more confused I become,” Burna Boy confessed.

He disclosed that his search for spiritual clarity and personal truth continues, emphasizing that his journey is far from over.

Burna Boy’s revelation echoes similar experiences shared by other Nigerian artists. Earlier this year, singer 9ice disclosed that he embraced the Ifa religion after suffering what he described as a “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for six months. In a viral interview with Nancy Isime, 9ice said he wished he had turned to the traditional faith much earlier in life.

Burna Boy’s honesty has once again sparked conversations about spirituality and faith among his fans, highlighting the personal struggles many artists face in their search for meaning beyond fame and success.
